GPPI PARTNERS WITH ANNENBERG LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The nation’s best companies recognize that leaders learn best by doing. The Partnership for Public Service’s Annenberg Leadership Institute is designed to enhance the federal government’s existing leadership programs by offering challenging job assignments to high-potential, developing federal leaders. Working with a network of public and private sector partners, the Partnership for Public Service will identify pressing management challenges at six federal agencies to be addressed through hands-on projects staffed by Annenberg Fellows – federal employees nominated by the selected agencies’ leaders.

GPPI is partnering with the Annenberg Leadership Institute to help plan and deliver the leadership curriculum. The opening reception was held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Riggs Library in Healy Hall.

The Annenberg program is designed to:

Fuel Innovation - Annenberg Fellows will work in joint-agency teams, guided by an experienced coach, to address some of government’s key challenges. These high-impact projects will measurably improve agencies’ operations and serve as a foundation for learning invaluable leadership lessons.

Strengthen Leadership - Over the course of the program year, Annenberg Fellows will attend a series of discussions led by public and private sector executives, learning how to apply the best management practices within their agencies to improve government performance. Participants will also receive coaching to support their professional development.

Build Public-Private Leadership Networks - Through their participation in the Annenberg Leadership Institute and other Partnership events, Annenberg Fellows will join a broad network of public and private sector change agents focused on building the government that the public deserves and the times demand.
