Turn right onto M Street, then left onto 33rd Street, and then left onto Prospect Street, which ends at the entrance to the Southwest Quad Parking Garage.
As is true for most urban campuses, parking in the area around the University is quite limited. There are several privately owned parking lots on M Street, which is a short walk from GPPI and the Georgetown campus. Both on and off campus parking lots are expensive. Because of this, we recommend that you take public transportation to the Georgetown Campus if possible. See public transportation section, which follows.
Take elevator in lower level of parking garage to top floor and exit on Prospect Street. Walk east on Prospect Street to the Car Barn, which is approximately two blocks from the parking garage at the corner of 36th and Prospect Streets. The Car Bar is handicap accessible. GPPI Admissions is located on the third floor. Please refer to the Campus Map for detail (search for: Car Barn).
Metrorail: Washington's Metro is a clean and convenient subway system. The three closest stops to Georgetown are all a half-hour walk or a short, inexpensive taxi ride away: in Rosslyn - directly across the Key Bridge in Virginia; in Foggy Bottom - near Washington Circle (Pennsylvania Avenue and 23rd Street); and at Dupont Circle (20th and R Streets). The University runs shuttle bus service (Georgetown University Transit System, or GUTS) to the Rosslyn Metro (Orange and Blue Line trains) and Dupont Circle (Red Line) stations. The G2 Metrobus also runs directly from Dupont Circle along P Street to the main gate of Georgetown (37th and O Streets, NW).
The closest airport to Georgetown is Reagan (Washington) National Airport. A cab ride from the airport to the Georgetown main gate takes about twenty minutes and costs about fifteen dollars. You can also take a Metro Blue Line train from the airport to Rosslyn and either take a taxi or GUTS bus to Georgetown. You can also take flights to Washington Dulles Airport in northern Virginia or Baltimore Washington International Airport. Both airports are about an hour outside Washington and taxi fares to the airports are very expensive. There is also inexpensive shuttle bus service to each airport.
All trains arrive at Union Station at 1st and Massachusetts Avenues, NE, a few blocks north of the Capitol. From Union Station take the Metro Red Line train to Dupont Circle and take a taxi, GUTS, or the G 2 bus to Georgetown.
