Georgetown Public Policy Institute

MPP Tracks

The MPP degree program at Georgetown Public Policy Institute allows students to choose a specialization that prepares them more fully for their policy career goals. Participation in a policy track (concentration) is required of all students and consists of three courses (9 credits) within the track (IPD students must take Macroeconomics plus two additional track courses), plus the student's thesis (6 credits). The remaining three electives can be related to the student's track area or can serve as "free electives" to explore other policy areas. Tracks must be declared by the end of the first semester (end of second semester for part-time students).

GPPI offers the following seven policy tracks:

Students can also pursue a self-designed policy track with the approval and support of a core faculty member and academic advisor.
