The Basic Elements of SAS Programming (pdf) explains how to get started and perform routine computing tasks. A more detailed treatment of the basics is presented in a series of SAS tutorials. For more experienced users, the SAS Review (pdf) is a compilation of examples of routines frequently used by thesis students, including how to combine data files. Advice for navigating the online documentation for SAS is provided in the SAS On-line Documentation Tree for Version 9.1(pdf)
